At 42-50 24th Street, Long Island City, another contender for Queens’ tallest skyscraper has revealed:

Renderings for a 74-story tower at 42-50 24th Street in downtown Long Island City, Queens, have been released. The project, if developed, would be a significant addition to the borough’s vertical profile, with a speculative minimum height of 750 feet based on double-height retail at the base. A $3.5 billion project to transform and rehabilitate an industrial wasteland on The Bronx’s eastern outskirts has reached the final phases of talks and might begin building shortly. The land is known as Fordham Landing.

Lois Weiss of the New York Post obtained preliminary designs earlier this week, revealing numerous high-rise structures, an aquatic leisure facility, and a public esplanade. Dynamic Star, the project’s development team, has hired design architects NADAAA and Perkins Eastman. So far, the only parts of the proposed project that have reported a 700,000-square-foot “Life Sciences Centre” and related office space. According to reports, the residential area would feature flats, with around 30% designated affordable housing.
